CLASSROOM POLICIES
Grading System
Your grade will be determined by the grades you receive on daily assignments, quizzes, and tests. 20% of your grade will be daily assignments and quizzes, 60% will be tests, and 20% will be the final exam. Your grade will be based on the following percentage scale:
89.5% to 100% 1
79.5% to 89% 2
69.5% to 79% 3
below 69.5% 5
Between 35 and 40 daily assignments will be given each quarter. No re-Tests will be given unless all assignments for that unit/test were completed before re-taking the test.
Materials Needed Daily------(Failure to bring Materials could result in detentions.)
Pencil - highlighter - colored pen – Unit Packet - paper -- Calculator -- straight edge
You are expected to have all your materials when you come into class each day.
Tardy Policy
Consistent with school policy. See your student handbook in order to be certain you understand the serious consequences that can result from tardies.
Classroom Behavior
Your behavior should always be responsible and in consideration of other people as well as the learning process. Every student will automatically be considered a Satisfactory (S) citizen at the beginning of each nine-week period. You will receive an automatic U for 3 or more tardies per quarter, insufficient homework or receiving a discipline report.
Make Up Work
It is the responsibility of the student to contact the teacher concerning make-up work. Arrangements for make-up must be made within 2 days after returning from an absence.
PROCEDURES
1. Pencils will be sharpened before the tardy bell or
during study time only.
2. Garbage (paper, gum wrappers, etc.) will be thrown
away before the tardy bell or
during study time. “Throwing Away” means getting
up out of your chair, walking to the garbage can,
and dropping the paper into the can.
3. All daily assignments, tests, quizzes, or papers to
be handed in will be done in pencil.
4. Proper forms of etiquette will be adhered to
(ESPECIALLY: inappropriate verbiage will not
be used and / or tolerated AND no hats inside a
building).
5. School policies will be upheld.
Break the rules: A verbal warning, 1 in room
detention, 2 in room detentions, school
detention, OR discipline report to the office
depending upon the severity of the offense.
CRITERIA FOR CREDIT
1. Standard size paper (no ragged edges).
2. Work done in pencil, answers highlighted or
circled, graded in colored pen.
3. Well labeled daily assignments. In the upper right
corner should be: Full name, the date, the class
period, and assignment number and page.
4. Vertical column and dividing line (when applicable).
5. All work shown.
