Educational Background and Professional Affiliations Masters of Counseling-Career Counseling, Chapman University, November 1998 Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Arizona State University West Campus, May 1995, Magna Cum Laude Member of the American Counseling Association Member of the Arizona School Counselor Association Certified School Counselor through Arizona Department of Education since 1998 Licensed Associate Counselor by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners since 2004 Professional Experience I have been fortunate to call Glendale Union High School District my home for almost half of my life. My first experiences with the district began when I started my high school career at age fourteen at Moon Valley High School. While a student, I became involved in a variety of challenging courses and amazing extracurricular activities. Therefore, it was no surprise to those who knew me when I made the transition from the private mental health sector into the schools as the social worker for Thunderbird High School in 1998.  As the social worker my primary responsibilities were dropout prevention and recovery. I value my many experiences in these areas and feel they provided me with many tools as I moved into school counseling at Greenway High School in 2000. I am proud to be a member of one of the hardest working counseling departments in the state. Greenway counselors continually raise the bar on the variety of programs and services offered to parents and students. I love my work with students in the areas of social, emotional, academic, and career counseling. I continue to work as a Licensed Associate Counselor in private practice to keep my skills sharp and to increase my own awareness of issues facing students and their families today.
