Dear Parents and Guardians:

Well, the fun is about to begin!  Over spring break construction activities will begin for our first new building.  We are all VERY excited about getting under way.  However, there are some changes that will affect many students and parents when we all return from spring break:

 1.  Bus Zone

 During the first phase of construction, buses will drop students off and pick them up in the east parking lot next to 39th Ave.  Adjustments will be made to this parking lot to ensure that vehicular and pedestrian traffic is restricted while the buses are loading and unloading.  It is important to note that this is a temporary move.  When Phase 1 is complete the bus zone will return to the south end of campus next to the new building.

 2.  Student Drop-off and Pick-up

 Parents who drop off and pick up their students will not be able to do so in the east parking lot by 39th Ave. You are encouraged to use the student parking lot on the west side of the campus.  To ensure student safety, we are making every effort to eliminate vehicular traffic in the temporary bus zone. School personnel will be assisting by directing traffic during this transition.  There will also be plenty of signs identifying the bus zone and indicating areas for parking, pickup and drop off. This is also a temporary move.  When Phase 1 is completed parents will then be able to use the east drop off/ pick up area.

 3.  Construction and Storage Areas

 When students return, they will see areas that are fenced off for construction activities, as well as temporary storage units that will be used throughout all construction phases.  Students are expected to stay away from all fenced areas and away from the storage units.  Student safety is the primary concern of both Greenway administration and the construction contractors, and we will take every possible measure to keep our students, faculty and staff safe.  It is imperative that students make good decisions in order to keep themselves safe as well.  Throughout the construction process I will continue to inform and remind students of our expectations during our daily announcements.

 We all anticipated that some adjustments would need to be made in order to begin construction while school was still in session, and we will continue to make adjustments to our routines as is necessary as we proceed with the construction of our new school.  You can be assured that I will keep you informed every step of the way.  I thank you sincerely for your understanding and for being flexible.  Please don’t hesitate to give me a call if you have any questions or concerns.
