Scholarship Winners
Four Years of hard work is finally paying off. These three Cadets have collectively earned scholarships from the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, Norwich University, Jacksonville University and even an Naval ROTC Scholarship to the cadet's university of choice all totaling about $454,000 in opportunities. These cadets have great choices and wonderful futures.

Greenway’s NJROTC Academic Team competed at the Sunnyslope High School ALL Services JROTC Mindsoon.
The Mindsoon is the final academic meet of the JROTC competitive season. Greenway cadets were prepared and they performed exceptionally well answering questions from history, literature and English, mathematics, science, geography, and current events. Our Varsity Academic Team placed third place in the highly competitive Navy JROTC competition and then performed even better in the final All Services competition placing second overall.

Grand Canyon University Drill Team Performance
Greenway NJROTC was one of three
high schools selected to participate in the Grand Canyon University Antelopes
Men’s Basketball Half-time show. Skyline Air Force JROTC, Glendale Navy
JROTCT and your Greenway Drillin’ Demons performed for an audience of
more than 6,000 spectators. Greenway’s Drill Experts performed a
five minute combined Armed and Unarmed routine that had Grand Canyon student
cheering for Greenway and standing and clapping as your impressive Drillin’
Demons marched off the court. Greenway students and instructors were
approached by many observers complementing and commenting on Greenway’s
outstanding performance.

Marksmanship Team
Greenway’s Hard Charging Air Rifle Team’s competed in the All Services JROTC Governor’s Cup Saturday, 9DEC17. Impressive Marksmen from the entire state assembled to compete in this highly competitive competition. Greenway performed exceptionally well with shooters earning national points and recognition.
Orienteering Meet
Saturday, 4NOV17, Greenway NJROTC competed in the Independence First Water Trail Head Orienteering Competition. Forty-three hard charging Greenway cadets competed against 21 schools with about 300 athletes from as far as New Mexico. The All Services JROTC Orienteering Competition at First Water Trail Head Superstition Mountains was rugged, challenging and beautiful. This competition required the knowledge of compass usage, the reading of a topographical map, and the strategy to maximize team speed and agility.
Field Meet
28OCT17, Greenway NJROTC competed in the American Legion Post #41, All Services JROTC Field Meet in downtown Phoenix. JROTC Teams came from as far as Bullhead City and Sahuarita Arizona bringing in excellent athletes, academic and drill teams determined to blow out all Phoenix JROTC units. This is the first major Filed Meet of the season that sets competitive environment for the aggressive run to achieve Distinguished unit status. Greenway athletes, academics and drill teams were highly competitive in every evaluated area. Greenway NJROTC under the Cadet Command of Cadet Adolfo Veleta won First Place Overall taking home the top trophy and the Big Money (a check for $1500.00).
