Greenway Student Wins Award at Regional Academic Decathlon Competition
Greenway High School sophomore Trisha Randall earned a silver second place medal at the Region Two Academic Decathlon Competition, which was held on January 30th and 31st at Thunderbird High School.  Nearly 300 students from across the state participated in the competition, in which school teams of nine students compete against each other in ten academic areas based on the chosen themes of the year.  The main topics of the event, which change each year, were “Latin America, with a Focus on Mexico” and “Evolutionary Biology”.  Trisha’s silver medal in the Personal Interview category of the competition exhibits her ability to speak about herself articulately and personably, demonstrates her skill in steering a conversation to her advantage, and celebrates her gift for presenting an entire package of composure, appropriate mannerisms, appearance, eye contact and confidence.  Congratulations to Trisha Randall!
