Posted on 3/27/2009

Greenway Teacher Lisa Wakefield has been awarded a grant for the Eurasia/South Asia Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA), a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State, and implemented by IREX (International Research & Exchanges Board).

The goal of the TEA program is to provide teachers with professional development opportunities that will lead to long-lasting partnerships and mutual understanding between American and international teachers and their students. Under the grant Wakefield will be hosted by a TEA international partner in Kazakhstan and will have the opportunity to co-teach and share best teaching practices.  She will be traveling April 4-18; be sure to check out her blog under faculty contacts via the Greenway Homepage.
