Lords and Ladies don your costumes and please join us for this special evening of the arts!  This year’s art show opening reception will be a special evening and everyone is invited to join us.  The “Renaissance Revival” will take place on Wednesday, May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Greenway Media Center and the best work of our Art, 3D Design and Photography students will be on display throughout the library.  Attendees will also be able to enjoy live music as they view the exhibits.  The show is expanded this year to include Renaissance- themed projects from Steffanie Hernandez’s  English 1-2 and Business Fundamentals classes, Amy Braun’s Honors World History students, as well as Amanda Shively’s Marketing classes.  In addition, Cory Losenicky’s Theater students will be conducting live Renaissance stage combat performances outside the Media Center and Lois Young’s Culinary students will be catering to the crowd with an array of Italian sweet refreshments.  The same evening show attendees can head over to the Greenway Auditorium for the Dance Show that begins at 7 pm for a truly arts-filled evening!  “We are excited to have the opportunity to work together with several of Greenway’s programs to make this year’s art show bigger and better than ever!  Students from each of the participating content areas studied different aspects of the Renaissance era and the result of their efforts will culminate with this special evening.  We hope to have many parents, students and community members drop by to enjoy it” says Michelle Benson, Greenway Visual Arts department chair and 3D Design instructor.  The work will be on display in the Media Center from Tuesday, May 11th through Friday, May 14th. The Media Center is open from 7:30 to 3:30 Monday through Thursday and 7:30 to 3 pm on Friday.
