Friday night under the lights, the Greenway Girls Track & Field team competed at the District Relay Championships at Apollo High School. The Lady Demons scored in nearly every event in the meet.
With arguable the best 1-2 tandem in the throws, juniors Bleta Kodra and Karisa Neithercutt won both the shot put and discus relays with the help senior Lydia Horn. Also in the field, senior Karlie Henning showed she is queen of the runaway winning both the long jump and triple jump leading her teams to some medals. The pole vault squad earned runner-up medals.
On the track, the senior tandem of Jasmine Freedman and Ali Ingram lead the sprint and distance crews, respectively, to some great performances and many medals. While, sophomore standout, Bethany Alexander hurdled quickly to lead the shuttle hurdle team to victory with Charlotte Eaton, Shelby Melin and Jasmine Freedman.
